Bashar AL-Rehany
Chief Executive Officer
Bashar AL-Rehany was appointed to the Board of Directors of Euromoney Institutional Investor PLC (EII) in November of 2009 and has held the position of Chief Executive Officer of BCA Research Inc. (BCA) since joining BCA in January of 2003. BCA, a subsidiary of EII since 2006, is one of the world's leading independent global investment research providers. Prior to joining BCA, Mr. AL-Rehany was President & Chief Executive Officer of Bridge Information Systems Canada Inc. an information, news and technology group that acquired Dow Jones Markets Inc. From October of 1996, Mr. AL-Rehany was President & Chief Executive Officer at Dow Jones Markets Canada Inc. Mr. AL-Rehany spent 13 years at Reuters Holdings PLC in various sales & marketing roles until 1993 when he was made the Director of Sales and Customer Service in Canada. He holds a degree in Mathematics & Computer Science from Teesside Polytechnic, England.

Nicoletta Manoleas
Executive Director, Research Operations and Human Resources
Nicoletta Manoleas has been with BCA Research since 1985 when she began working with the research team. As a Senior Analyst she assisted in researching and launching several new products. Nicoletta's exposure to the different facets of BCA's products helped her to take on a role in management by developing and heading up the Research Operations side of the business. Today, reporting to the CEO, she has moved into a senior management role where she is responsible for managing the Research Operations side of the business and Human Resources and works closely with other senior management members on business initiatives.

David L. Abramson
Managing Editor, Commodity & Energy Strategy Director Of Research, U.S. Equity Strategy
David Abramson has been with BCA Research since 1987. He is currently Chief Commodity and Energy Strategist. From 2005 until early 2007, he was the Managing Editor of China Investment Strategy, an institutional service dedicated to a wide variety of currency, economic and financial market issues. From 2000 to mid-2005, he originated and managed a European institutional service. For most of the 1990s, he was Managing Editor of the Foreign Exchange Strategy service (formerly ForexCast), the currency advisory service of the Group, and also frequently contributed to the emerging market asset allocation service. In addition, Mr. Abramson is a part-time lecturer in International Business with the Concordia and McGill University Faculties of Finance. Before joining BCA, he worked in the international department of the Bank of Canada for three years modeling exchange rates and trade flows. He holds a M.B.A. and M.A. in International Relations from the University of Chicago, as well as a M.A. in Economics from Carleton University.

Joseph Abramson
Managing Editor, BCA Global Asset Allocation
Joseph Abramson joined BCA in July 2005 as an Associate Editor within the Emerging Markets Strategy team and in late 2006 moved to the European Investment Strategy service. He has over ten years experience in the investment field including three years experience as a Research Analyst for a long-short hedge fund and three years as an Associate Portfolio Manager for a major financial institution. He has extensive experience in combining top-down, macro analysis with in-depth fundamental research to obtain strong performance results.

Martin H. Barnes
Chief Economist
Martin Barnes joined BCA Research in 1987 and, from 1993 to 2011 was Managing Editor of the flagship monthly Bank Credit Analyst publication. From 1987 to 1993 he was Managing Editor of the U.S. Fixed Income Analyst publication. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Barnes spent ten years as Chief International Economist with a major U.K. securities firm and five years as an economist with BP in London. He speaks frequently at investment conferences around the world, and is quoted widely in the financial press. He holds a B.A. in Economics from Strathclyde University, Scotland. Since 2007, he has been on the Board of Trustees of the University of Victoria Pension Fund.

Peter Berezin
Managing Editor, The Bank Credit Analyst
Peter Berezin joined BCA Research in 2010, as a Managing Editor and member of the BCA research team. Mr. Berezin joined BCA after spending three years as Vice President and Senior Global Economist with Goldman Sachs in New York. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, Peter spent 7 years with the International Monetary Fund. He has a Ph. D in Economics from the University of Toronto, a Master of Science (Economics) from the London School of Economics and a Bachelor of Arts (Economics) from McMaster University. He has extensive experience in analyzing global economic and financial market trends

Arthur Budaghyan
Managing Editor, Emerging Markets Strategy
Arthur Budaghyan joined BCA Research in 1999 after completing graduate studies in economics and finance at McGill University. Mr. Budaghyan is Managing Editor of the Emerging Markets Strategy and continues to play a key role with the China Investment Strategy team. Arthur also holds the CFA designation.

Dhaval Joshi
Managing Editor, European Investment Strategy
Dhaval Joshi joined BCA in February 2011 as Managing Editor and strategist of BCA’s European Investment Strategy service. Prior to joining BCA, he was Chief Strategist at RAB Capital, a U.K. based hedge fund with $1 billion of assets. From 2000 to 2007 Dhaval was the Global Strategist at Société Générale where he became well known for his analysis of economic and financial cycles. He consistently received high rankings in external surveys, including the Extel award for best new pan-European analyst in 2000. Between 1993 and 1999 he was an Investment Manager at JP Morgan Fleming, specialising in applied behavioral finance and managing around $1 billion of global mandates. In recent years, Dhaval’s commentary and analysis have regularly appeared in leading financial publications such as the Financial Times and The Economist. He holds a M.A. (Hons) from Cambridge University, England and is an Affiliate of the Institute of Actuaries.

Harvinder Kalirai
Managing Editor, Foreign Exchange Strategy
Harvinder Kalirai joined BCA in 2008 as Managing Editor of BCA’s Foreign Exchange Strategy. From 2007-2008 he was Head of Currency Management at CIBC Global Asset Management, where he was responsible for setting currency exposure for all active currency mandates. Previously he held various positions at State Street Global Markets from 2000-2007, including Senior Macro Strategist (London), Head of Currency Research, Asia-Pacific (Sydney), and Senior Strategist (Boston). Mr. Kalirai was a Senior Economist at IDEA (New York) from 1996 to 2000 and an Analyst at the Bank of Canada (Ottawa) from 1995 to 1996. He has a M.A. (economics) and Bachelor of Commerce (finance) from McGill University. Harvinder is also a CFA charterholder.

Ian MacFarlane
Managing Editor, BCA Global Asset Allocation
Ian MacFarlane joined BCA Research in 2006 as Managing Editor of the European Investment Strategy service. This followed a 25-year career in senior roles as an economist, strategist and fund manager in Johannesburg, Hong Kong, London and New York. He has covered all the major asset classes in both developed and emerging markets, using both qualitative and quantitative investment tools in portfolio construction. Ian has wide-ranging experience in initiating research and developing research products, and has also advised governments and policymakers on topics as diverse as pensions and economic statistics. Mr. MacFarlane holds a B.Sc. in Economics from Hull University.

Lenka Martinek
Managing Editor, Daily Insights
Lenka Martinek joined BCA Research in 2002 after completing her studies in economics at the University Of Western Ontario, Canada. Ms. Martinek spent the first seven years of her career at BCA working as a strategist for the U.S. Investment Strategy service. She is currently Managing Editor of BCA’s Daily Insights service and continues to focus on investment implications within the U.S. and other developed markets.

Mark McClellan
Managing Editor, U.S. Investment Strategy
Mark McClellan joined BCA Research in 1996 and is Managing Editor of BCA’s U.S. Investment Strategy service. Mr. McClellan also heads up the firm’s fixed income research. Prior to joining BCA, he spent seven years with the Bank of Canada, and from 1986 to 1989, he was an economist with Data Resources of Canada Inc. He became Managing Editor of the U.S. Fixed Income Analyst in 1999, and launched the Global Fixed Income Strategy service in 2002. He holds a M.A. in Economics from the University of Western Ontario.

Lee Menifee
Managing Editor, Global Real Estate Strategy
Lee Menifee joined BCA Research in May 2011 as Managing Editor. Lee will launch BCA’s first Global Real Estate Strategy service. Prior to joining BCA, he was Senior Director, Global Strategy at CB Richard Ellis Investors, a leading real estate investment advisory firm. In this role, Lee developed the firm’s Global House View, which provides a quantitative and qualitative assessment of expected returns and risks in every major real estate market. The Global House View is used by portfolio managers to make both allocation and investment decisions. In addition, Lee designed model portfolios for major clients, and implemented industry-leading risk measurement tools. He holds a Master of Urban Planning from the University of Southern California.

Marlene Puffer
Managing Editor, Global Fixed Income Strategy
Marlene Puffer is Managing Editor of the Global Fixed Income Strategy service. Prior to joining BCA in October 2010, she was an independent consultant for five years, providing fixed-income strategic advice and investment solutions to capital market participants. She also managed the investment portfolio for a large Canadian pension fund and currently sits on the Board of HOOPP, one of Canada’s largest pension funds. Her previous career included positions on the finance faculty at the University of Toronto Rotman School of Business, and with RBC Capital Markets, BMO Nesbitt Burns, Legg Mason Canada, and PIMCO Canada. She holds a BA and MA in Economics from the University of Toronto, and MSc and PhD in Finance & Statistics from the University of Rochester, NY. She also holds the CFA designation.

Ronald Torrens
Managing Editor, U.S. Bond Strategy
Ron Torrens is currently Managing Editor of the U.S. Bond Strategy service and contributes regularly to the firm's Global Fixed Income Strategy service. He launched the U.S. Bond Strategy service in 2005 and has actively shaped fixed income strategy and sector selection since joining BCA in 1998. Previously, Mr. Torrens spent eight years as an analyst with a boutique M&A firm, two years in general management at a startup software company, and six years as a geophysicist. Mr. Torrens holds a B. Sc. (Eng.) from Queen's University and an M.B.A in finance from York University.

Yan Wang
Managing Editor, China Investment Strategy
Mr. Wang joined BCA Research in 2002 and is Managing Editor of the China Investment Strategy. He plays a major role in formulating BCA's view on the Greater China region and emerging Asia. Prior to joining BCA, he spent six years in the brokerage industry as an equity analyst in China and Hong Kong. Mr. Wang holds a B.A. in Finance from Nankai University, an M.A. in Economics from Tianjin Institute of Finance and an MBA in Finance from McGill University. He also holds the CFA designation.

Chen Zhao
Managing Editor, Global Investment Strategy
Chen Zhao joined BCA Research in 1992 and created BCA's China Investment Strategy in 1993. In 1998 he developed BCA's Emerging Markets Strategy services and was Managing Editor of both publications until July 2005. He became Managing Editor of BCA's Global Investment Strategy in October 2005. Mr. Chen was formerly a professor at Beijing's Central University of Finance and Economics and has also worked as a senior advisor to several of China's government organizations. His articles and commentary frequently appear in world-leading financial newspapers such as the Wall Street Journal and Financial Times. Mr. Chen holds an M.A. in Economics from the Central Institute of Finance and Banking in Beijing, was a visiting scholar at the University of Illinois, and pursued postgraduate studies at McGill University.
